We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced R&D Specialist with expertise in paint technology and protective coatings to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sourcing, identifying third-party manufacturers, and collaborating on product development within this specialized field. This role is critical in driving innovation and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality protective coating products.

Key Responsibilities:

1) Sourcing and Identification:

• Identify and evaluate potential third-party manufacturers and suppliers specializing in paint technology and protective coatings.
• Conduct thorough market research to source new and innovative materials and
  technologies in the field of protective coatings.
• Maintain a database of potential partners, ensuring up-to-date and comprehensive
  information.

2) Shortlisting and Evaluation:

• Assess and shortlist manufacturers based on quality, cost, and capability criteria specific to paint technology and protective coatings.
• Perform due diligence and quality audits on selected manufacturers.
• Negotiate terms and agreements with third-party partners.

3) Product Collaboration:

• Work closely with third-party manufacturers to develop and refine paint and protective coating products.
• Coordinate with internal teams, including engineering, design, and marketing, to align product specifications and requirements.
• Manage project timelines, ensuring milestones are met and products are delivered on
  schedule.

4) Innovation and Development:

• Lead research and development initiatives to create cutting-edge paint and protective coating products.
• Stay updated with industry trends, technologies, and regulatory requirements specific to protective coatings.
• Propose and implement improvements in product development processes.

5) Quality Assurance:

• Ensure all products meet the company’s quality standards and regulatory requirements for protective coatings.
• Oversee testing, certifications and validation processes in collaboration with third-party manufacturers.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
• Proven experience in R&D, sourcing, and product development within paint technology and protective coatings.
• Strong project management skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements for protective coatings.
• Experience in the protective coatings industry, including knowledge of application techniques and performance testing.
• Proficiency in using project management and sourcing software/tools.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
